  • Proudly South African, Elgin Brown and Hamer is the oldest ship repair company in South Africa, having been in existence since 1878.
    The company operates around the Southern African coast, with branches in Durban, East London, Cape Town and  Walvis Bay.
    The Elgin Brown and Hamer Group comprises of 8 companies.
    Together they provide the international ship industry with a full in-house service in all aspects of ship repair.
    First for Southern Africa includes privately owned  floating docks with multiple docking capacity, a floating crane, barges, tug and a launch.
    We currently have a 4 star NOSA rating and are ISO 9001-2000 accredited.
